Pillar work is a methodology of describing how to build a strong and sturdy sense of being.

The premise is around the idea that all four bodies make up the imagery of a pillar.

Why a pillar?

  • A pillar is secure.

  • A pillar depends on no one but the strength of itself and the person who built it.

  • A pillar has many assets that create its beauty and stability.

  • A pillar can be decorated to accentuate its beauty but is absolutely perfect all on its own.

  • A pillar has room for people to come up, touch, look, and experience, but none of those things will have any impact on the structural integrity of the pillar itself.

  • A pillar can crack, but with the right resources, patience, and delicate repair, a pillar’s

old imperfections can turn into an enhancing addition to the pillar as a whole.

So, now that we understand what a pillar is, let’s go over how we build a strong pillar!

To help you understand this, I would love to share a teaching I was given by one of the world’s top sales coaches.

It’s all about offers.

Let’s say you created what you believe to be the world’s best pair of jeans.

They’re comfortable, fashionable, and don’t fade even after years of wearing and washing.

Now, you’ve opened a shop and are ready to sell them.

How do you choose to sell them?

If you focus your sales technique on selling the jeans themselves, you may not be very successful.

This is because, at the end of the day, most people do not care about the product, they care about what the product will do for them.

Now, envision selling the jeans by their offer: what they will give your customer.

Imagine selling comfort and confidence.

Imagine selling feeling so good in your skin that these jeans are just an extension of the best parts of yourself.

Imagine giving someone the courage to walk out into the world feeling as though they could do whatever they put their mind to.

Imagine taking someone who has never been able to love their physical body and giving

them the one tool that finally gets them to love themselves. That’s the offer.

Now, let’s create the offer of your life.

However you bring this offer in the world (the product or service) doesn’t matter.

I once asked my client who owns an E-bike shop what their offer was, and after some

deep digging and contemplating, they said “I offer liberation and freedom”.

How beautiful is that! I want me some of that.

The second you find your offer, the what and how becomes simple.

If you don’t know what your offer is, think about your future aspirations.

What career do you want to join? What hobbies do you wish to grow in? What kind of

life are you hoping to create?

You may notice there is a common denominator here that ties them all together.

The agenda behind your aspirations holds your offer.

Offers can look as follows:

  • I offer a safe space for people to speak freely.

  • I offer joy and laughter so people can feel happy.

  • I offer unconditional love so all inner children feel loved.

  • I offer nourishment so physical bodies are able to function to the best of their capability.

  • I offer leaders the knowledge to find their voice.

  • I offer a friend for everyone to feel less alone in the world.

Offers are flexible and can change throughout your lifetime, but understanding what

yours is in every moment of your life is crucial to developing your pillar.

Your offer is the foundation of your pillar.

After you build your stable and sturdy foundation, it’s time to build the rest of your pillar.

This happens by always acting out of the integrity of your offer. This boils down to the words you say, how you speak through body language, the tone you use when you speak, the people you surround yourself with, how you treat animals, etc.

Pillar work is most impactful when you stay consistent.

This means even when you have a slip up, (which will happen, it’s totally normal!) you

don’t give up and immediately fall back into all your old patterns.

You give yourself grace, acknowledge the slip up, figure out what happened and why it

happened, take note of how you will handle that situation next time in integrity, and let it go.

I repeat: you let it go!

Holding onto mistakes and using them to beat yourself up is a sure way of relapsing back into your old ways.

Pardon my language, but shit happens! It’s okay. Give yourself the room to make mistakes, learn from them, and grow.

I find it incredibly helpful to draw out your pillar, as imagery is very supportive in engaging all your bodies, and seeing your pillar in more ways than just as a phenomenon is really powerful.

I have drawn out so many pillars that I have lost count.

I start by drawing the pillar itself, and within the drawing, I write all the things that make up my pillar.

I start with the foundation of who I am, and build upon that, including my offer(s).

Give it a try, and please send them to me! I would love to see your beautiful pillar of who your new authentic self is!

I mean it … email them to me at asklouru@gmail.com

I can’t wait to see them!
